The editing tool will complement Stem Media’s existing product offering which includes newsroom control system Dina, media asset management and video collaboration system Mimir, and data visualisation tool Everviz.

The tie-up will expand the sales reach for the Bergen-based company into Oceania.

“Oceania has already proven to be an important market for us. We are very happy to have Stem Media as our partner in the region. This means even better support for our existing and new customers in the region from a team that knows the media industry and its current challenges and opportunities well” says Helge Hoibraaten, co-CEO CuttingRoom.

Bringing CuttingRoom into the production workflow alongside Dina and Mimir, allows for a full end-to-end story creation process entirely in the cloud from ideation all the way to publishing. The edit workflows via CuttingRoom also allow for an intersection with on-premise craft editing as well as moving files to traditional playout systems.

“It’s a tool that you can get going with very quickly and is intuitive to use. That’s a focus for all the products that Stem Media resells” says Emily “All these cloud tools working together provide a user friendly and robust workflow in the cloud where location no longer matters”

CuttingRoom offers users templated simple-to-use adaptive graphics for different video shapes and sizes and multiple rendition rendering at the click of a button along with a host of other powerful features.

The company was born out of the idea that editing should be simple, light weight and intuitive. The team has decades of experience in media and wanted to bring the power of the cloud to editing workflows which in the past required large installations and heavy hardware.

CuttingRoom is part of Media City in Bergen which is a powerhouse of media technology innovation.
